996 Circumcisions in the Community; a New Initiative

Abstract Introduction The average waiting time for an initial outpatient appointment in urology at UHL is 23 weeks and times circumcisions are significantly longer. A new initiative Leicester has enabled a proportion of fit healthy NHS patients to have their circumcision under LA within the community. Our aim was audit our practice determine if this could be trialled across other urological departments UK. Method prospective database been maintained 76 who underwent community between November 2021 August 2022 were identified. 16 excluded since they not contactable via telephone. Online hospital records GP used addition contacting telephone collect data. Results mean satisfaction level with service provided 8.28. total post-operative complication rate 35% 25% post operative surgical site infection rate. There 2 (3.3%) admissions secondary penile abscesses possible skin necrosis which both required drainage theatre. length admission these 2.5 days. 3 (5%) unhappy cosmesis, had/are awaiting redo circumcision. Conclusions Through removed from lists thereby reducing very high patient satisfaction. This indicates that also reduce minor procedures.
